Account books, 1782-1845.

This collection contains Andrew Walker's account book (octavo volume) for the years 1782 to 1785. In it are orders for such items as harnesses, saddles, blankets, and bridles, as well as cloth, foodstuffs, and liquor. Walker frequently accepted payment in the form of work credits and goods (e.g., articles of clothing, cords of wood). The collection also includes Palmer Walker's ledger (folio volume) for the years 1826 to 1845. The ledger is similar to his father's account book but includes an index and is less specific regarding items sold.
